The Bespak GEAR was nominated for the Sports Event of the Year at the KLFM West Norfolk Sports Awards which took place last night (Wednesday 28th January 2016) and we are extremely proud to say that it won. Roger Partridge from Alive Leisure along with representatives of the Borough Council and Bespak received the award at the event where hundreds turned out to support all of the nominees. Bespak were very privileged to have been a part of the event and evening itself  where everyone was recognised for their sporting achievements no matter what their background or ability.

Bespak GEAR celebrated its 10th anniversary in May 2015, we have been the sponsoring the event from the beginning.

The GEAR is a fantastic event for King’s Lynn and the surrounding communities and Bespak is proud to continue sponsoring this event. The event goes from strength to strength and the enthusiasm and the excitement is great even if the weather is not ideal in some years.

This year’s event takes place on Sunday, 1 May 2016, the main 10k race will start at 10.45am in the Tuesday Market Place in King’s Lynn, with the mini GEAR fun run starting at 10am.  The fast, flat course takes runners on a loop through the town centre, through The Walks and along the waterfront, showcasing some of the town’s key heritage and retail areas.

The event itself was awarded the national Bill Reynolds Memorial Trophy 2015 by the British Association of Road Races last year, the award recognizes the hard work that has gone into making the GEAR West Norfolk’s premier road race and the improvements that have been made year-on-year in organizing the event.

Each year we fund free places in the Mini GEAR Fun Run, local schools are offered the places in a bid to win the first prize for most number of pupils participating (as a percentage of their school roll).

We, at Bespak, are again very much looking forward to participating and supporting this year’s events in May.
