Timeline

1959
Today’s Consort Medical founded as “Bespak” supplying valves for cosmetics and consumer markets (King’s Lynn).

1968
Gained contract with GSK for Ventolin thus entering the pharmaceutical market.

1975
Moved to King’s Lynn where Bespak remains today.

1997
Awarded Diskus® manufacturing contract by GSK.

1999
Launched HFA valve to replace CFC variant.

2004
Cramlington site business sold as a business to Aesica Pharmaceuticals Ltd in September 2004.

2007
Group’s name changed to Consort Medical plc. Aesica Pharmaceuticals aqcuired the Queenborough site.

2009
Acquired The Medical House, a specialist in auto injectors.

2010
500 millionth Diskus® device manufactured for GSK.

2011
Entered point of care diagnostics market in partnership with Atlas Genetics.

2011
Monheim, Zwickau and Pianezza became part of Aesica Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

2012
Awarded contract with Nicoventures for licensed nicotine delivery product.

2013
Unveiled Syrina®, Vapoursoft® and Lila® range of innovative injection devices.
Secured first MHRA licence for commercial drug handling.

2014
Acquisition of Aesica Pharmaceuticals by Consort Medical plc.

2014
Regulatory approval and launch of Bespak’s first auto-injector (for Dr. Reddy’s).
Agreement with SteadyMed for development of wearable infusion delivery device.
Unveiled Lapas® range of innovative bolus injection devices.

2015
2 billionth HFA MDI Valve manufactured.
Bespak brings into operation, at it’s King’s Lynn site, the UK’s largest cleanroom at the time of construction.

2016
Signed significant development and manufacturing collaboration agreement with Oxular “formerly Precision Ocular”.
Regulatory approval and UK launch for UCB’s Cimzia Auto injector with core Bespak technology.
Signed AstraZeneca scale-up and commercial supply agreement for Bespak proprietary pMDI valves and actuators.

2017
750 millionth Diskus device manufactured for GSK.

2018
Bespak Injection Moulding Academy opened.

2019
FDA approval received for Mylan’s generic version of Advair.
