King Systems delivers first transformation project on schedule
King Systems is delighted to announce that the first major process improvement project in its manufacturing transformation programme has been completed on time, delivering annual savings of approximately $0.6m.
On June 24 Consort Medical plc announced with its preliminary results for the year ended 30 April 2009 that it was to invest in a three year programme to transform the manufacturing processes at its Noblesville, Indiana and Kent, Ohio plants.This programme involves a number of concurrent projects to automate key processes and to introduce advanced manufacturing techniques into the factories.Total annual cost reduction is expected to exceed $5m.
The first project to complete has involved manufacturing improvements to the mask manufacturing lines in Kent, Ohio.Investment in improved equipment, using enhancements developed and implemented in-house, have allowed headcount to be reduced by over 40 largely through natural attrition.Annual savings are expected to be around $0.6m in lower labour and material costs.
